The ongoing second World Humanoid Robot Games has gathered top talent from around the world to advance the industry and push its limits.
The five-day event, held at the National Speed Skating Oval, kicked off in Beijing on Saturday evening. It is set to feature 51 competition events and bring together over 600 teams and 2,000 robots from 16 countries.
From the football pitch to the factory floor, these events showcase the latest capabilities and real-world applications of humanoid robots, testing ideas that could eventually matter in everyday life.
A new generation of talent in the field is chasing big dreams at the games, with competitors hailing from around the world.
"I think we'll have a great result, also. The same as soccer players, the robot will get a great result as well," said Guilherme, a robot operator from Team Brazil.
"We may be young, but our technology is solid. Personally, I want to explore vertical AI applications. I hope to integrate AI with more hardware to generate greater practical and commercial value," said Sheng Ming, Team Leader of Chongqing University in southwest China.
The event also brings together upstream and downstream companies across the robotics supply chain.
"Many component sectors including sensors, cables and even housings are getting better guidance from these games," said Yuan Minglun, co-founder of Kunwei Sensing Technology.
The games are jointly hosted by the Beijing municipal government, China Media Group (CMG), the World Robot Cooperation Organization and the Asia-Pacific Robot World Cup International Council.
Organizers said the event is designed to promote technological exchange, industrial collaboration and the development of embodied intelligence.
The first World Humanoid Robot Games, held in August 2025, attracted 280 teams and over 500 humanoid robots from 16 countries.
